. . . and the Beast


This is the first thing I have done for myself for ages. Feels good.

Great image Roland, the gradient in the shadows adds a nice subtle richness and volume. As is the case with most roughs though, I find the original pencil sketch has an energy and tension to it that gets lost a little in the transition to a cleaned-up drawing. Do you trace over the rough onto a clean sheet of paper?

i still find it soo hard not to loose that sketch energy. I have tried clean up on overlay paper/lightbox but that always kills it now I just use the sketch as reference an rework directly in photoshop. It's a bit better but still too static
