Just scribble

I'm not drawing at all at the moment. These scribbles are about all I have done this month. Not good. Was hoping that after a little break from the drawing board I would just drift back to it . . . Maybe I need more time or maybe a bit of discipline!

Undergrowth

Still mulling this illustration over. This is my third or forth sketch and still a long way from anything I'm happy with but have some ideas so just need to sit down and get them down.

Swing Out

One for fun. I usually find dance illustrations quite hard but I did this one really quickly and had a lot of fun with it. I have a freelance job coming up for a lindy hop illustration and this has got me in the mood to tackle it.

edit - it is so frustrating how a few hours, often less, after finishing something all I can see is the flaws. I like this image. So much I wanna fix though! Such is the path of progress I suppose.

On The Beach

I had a break from work and drawing and took some time to relax and refresh this week. I did this sitting on Brighton beach today. Maybe a new Alice picture coming on . . . althought I have quite a lot of other stuff on the boil. Trying not to think about that though and enjoy a fairly idle weekend.

Watercolour Pencil Portrait

I've been meaning to do some colour studies for a while. Finally got it together this lunch time and finished up after work. It's a bit overworked but I like the colour. Strong but not overbearing. Maybe I'll be brave enough soon to use the watercolour sketchbook I was gifted by Paul.

Hopefully this is the start of me pulling out of the rut I've been in. Have a couple of projects on and some freelance work so need to pick up a bit of momentum.

Disgustingly Envious

The new Gobelins animated shorts are up for all to see. You don't want to miss them they are an absolute delight. I am sick with jealously.

For those that don't know, Gobelins is a french school that has an amazing animation course that yearly turns out shorts of exceptional quality and flair.

Late . . .

These are two designs for a job I should have finished ages ago (Sorry Becky). Not quite finalized but almost there. Life is settling down a bit and I'm getting back to the drawing board. Which is nice. Off to do some planning for the current Fourteen Nights theme now . . .

Finally . . .

Finally started drawing again yesterday after hardly doing anything outside of work for a few weeks. Feels good. Was starting to get me down. Nothing special just scribbling with a brown felt tip. Challenging but fun.

All Alice posters have gone and have a few more orders so will try get a new batch ordered this weekend. Hope to set up a PayPal buy now thing for the blog. Etsy isn't really working for me.

Rehash

A quick lunchtime rehash of this unfinished project for fourteen nights. Need to push on with this as soon as. It is weighting me down
