Despite my monolingual ignorance I have started to buy some Bandes Dessin. This week I got Sergio Toppi's 'Blues' and Claire Wendlings 'Theo'. They are both beautiful and I am pleased to own them even though I can't read them. Fortunately I have a friend who is going to translate the Toppi book for me next week, which I am very excited about.

additional edit - I have noticed that I am getting quite a lot of visitors to this post. So I thought I'd add a couple of note as I had previously removed some of the text.
I was trying to get a feel for what other people out there thought about this gap. I was considering putting some time energy and money into getting some classic BD translated and was trying to get peoples thoughts and ideas on that. Sadly there was no response so i gave up hope really. I have susequently brought more BD and suppose I shall have to learn French
To any European readers I would greatly appreciate ideas of some BD I should read.
