Long Week

Last week was a really long one. Despite still being tired from Italy I was out dancing a lot and drinking and drawing the rest of the time. I didn't really settle into work all week (suprise suprise). Although I still managed to finish one illustration and rough out three more to tackle this week. In my spare time I did these thumbnails for fourteen nights. I'll try and find time this week to work one of them up.

Home again

Back from a short break to a swing dance festival in Como Italy. Had a great time. Awesome bands, great friends , amazing dancers and then there was all that great coffee. Here are a few sketches.

Alice Finished!!!

Well here it finally is. I have procrastinated over this one long enough. I could fuss over it for ever but I think it is probably as good as it's gonna get, give or take. I have a lot of thoughts about the lessons I learned on this piece but I'll save them for a post at a later date. For now I'm gonna sit back and enjoy having finished.

I am thinking about having this made up as a print. What do you think?

edit - colour/saturation is quite different on my other computer! I reserve the rght to colour balance when I get to work. Thats not fussing right ;)

Week 7 of 10

Good to have a bigger model this week. Lots of interresting shapes. Hope we get her again before the end. Might try and use a different media than charcol for the quick ones next week as I would like a bit more control.

edit - just realized I am going to be in Italy next week so I'll miss the session. Oh No! On the other hand. Lots of lovely Gelato, great coffee and swing dancing til dawn . . .
