Blowin' in the wind

One of the few Dylan songs I don't like. Generally I'm a big fan.

Sorry the blog is a bit dull lately. A bit distracted. Trying to pull it back together but kinda drifting at the moment. Suprisingly enough it seems there are 20 people subscribed to my blog and more beside who visit fairly regularly. It is very nice you guys stop by but I feel bad when I don't have more to show than a few scribbles.

Life is treating me pretty well at the moment. I am gonna be doing a lot of illustration at work this year. Which means a pleasing break from 3D. A friend has asked me to design a tattoo for him which I'm not totally sure about but seems like potentially a cool project. I am getting back into Lindy Hop a bit which I have neglected for almost a year (due to OCD in drawing) . . . now I just need to get this blog going again . . .

Life Drawing

Yesterday I went life drawing for the second time in almost 10 years! I can hardly believe it. So I'm rusty and I must be getting old 'cos ten years is a long time not to do something you enjoy. Anyway the company is paying for classes at the local college. The teacher is good and despite having a few problems with proportions it was a good first session. I'm looking forward to doing lots more.

The top two drawings were 7min poses the bottom one was 20mins with a couple of 30sec scribbles on the border. There was another 7min pose but I hated it too much to bring home.

Alice?

A few sketches done on the laptop. Trying to get going with the Alice project I started over Christmas. Not sure where to take it though. Best do some more sketches . . . It's really nice doing these sketches on the tablet PC, I can be a lot less precious.

On the train tonight

Some rough poses and some characters from the commute. A big contrast between the pencil and pen sketches. It interesting how we draw differently in different media.

I have learnt alot this week at work. Drawing all day is great :D I feel very privilaged but really hope I don't have to go back to 3D anytime soon.

Hope to do some drawing this weekend but we shall see. Pretty tired right now and short on ideas. Maybe sleep will clear all the work drawings out of my mind and I can think about starting my own project or returning to Alice.

some random scribbles

A few stolen moments in graphite.

New Toy

I brought a Tablet PC (Toshiba M700) this weekend after a bit of deliberation. I had pretty much talked myself out of it. Then I was window shopping and saw the computer I had been looking at on sale for only £400!!! (It is supposed to be over £1000) I had a quick play with it in the shop and was totally sold. I installed the wacom drivers and Sketchbook Pro this morning and have done some sketching wth it today. I am very impressed with it so far. I forgot to save my sketches though so this all I have to show so far . . .

Excuses

Here are some scribbles from the last couple of days. I am actually drawing loads at the moment but it's all for work. So sadly I can't show you which is a real shame because it is more interesting than the last few scribbly posts I've made here. I am trying to balance things up so I work on my own stuff but i am enjoying the drawing at work right now so it has most of my attention.

Sketchbook and the Sofa Gnome

Commuter sketches and the twitter junkie on my sofa.
