No Pictures

I've been trying to post something here at least once a week but I kinda fell off the wagon last week. Not that I'm not busy scribbling. I'm actually drawing loads and have brought lots of great books that I am reading/studying. I'll try and write up some of those tonight. I'm probably sketching more at the moment than ever. Devouring a sketchbook every couple of weeks and countless Post-It notes but its all pretty random stuff. Drawing a lot from Flickr. In particular Gatochy's amazing archive. Not really sure to what end but it's all good practice I guess. . . I say that too often. I really need to focus on something that has a goal in mind . . . might have to miss fourteen nights for a bit . . .

Past, Present and Future

Did these this morning. 60 Sec sketches drawn from Posemaniacs, which is such a great resource especially as I just can't seem to find a life drawing class to attend locally. I am planning to do a 30 minute set of these every day for a few weeks. Hope to see some developments. It is a great exercise. I find it quite exciting but also relaxing.

Random sketches from my sketchbook yesterday. There isn't a good reason the images are framed it just kind of followed on from the drawing I did on the train in the morning (top left). Very different to my usual sketchbook pages.

This is an old drawing (coloured pencil over markers) that I stumbled over this morning and Sally asked me to scan for her. I still kinda like it but its nice to know I could make a much better job of it now

At The Fair

Added a bit of a background. I guess I'll re-draw it now and ink it up. Want to try and get a good level of finish with this picture.

My First Caricature

Kieran The Marketing Guy

This is my first attempt at a proper caricature. Damn it's hard. Petty pleased with the result in the end. My lunch time sketch needed an extra hour of work at the end of the day though to tighten it up. Probably more of these to come as others have express an interest :)
